St James Church, South Leigh

Back in Witney late last night and spend the morning filming today at St James Church in South Leigh for Carl Wesley Anderson.

We discussed the book of Revelation and talked about the extraordinary medieval frescoes of the last judgment in the church that date from 1490.

We discussed too the influence of John Wesley (1703 - 1791) who preached his first sermon in the church (aged 22) in 1725 after he had been ordained Deacon at the nearby Christchurch Cathedral, Oxford.
