Serenity House Counselling Services Inc

It was an honour to give a lecture tonight at Serenity House, a secular community-based treatment facility in Addison, Illinois offering addiction recovery services.

The event was organised by Eternal Buzz Cafe, a wonderful ministry headed up by Vito LoCascio that encapsulates and embodies the principles of incarnational and holistic mission.

I spoke to the men on "Addiction and Grace : 8 principles to cultivate freedom on the road to recovery".

It was fun, animated and boisterous with the men calling out at my funny stories and anecdotes.

They were moved too as I sought to be vulnerable about struggles in my own life (growing up with ADHD in a fatherless home and my own Dad dying of alcoholism when I was a teenager).

It was an honour to pray with people at the end and I was thrilled when 7 told me that they'd chosen to appropriate grace by praying to receive the Higher Power (whose name is Jesus).
