Good to have three hours with Pastor Stephen Smith of the Elim Restoration Church in Oxford to talk theology and ministry.
He is a Word and Spirit Pentecostal (not unusual) who is sacramental and reformed (more unusual) so we had much in common.
I joked with him that this was my protestant shrine - with statues of the great evangelists, Messrs Wesley, Moody and Sanky who would surely had formally been made Saints if we hadn't discontinued the practice of canonisation in the reformed tradition.
(Before anyone feels the need to correct me; I'm glad we did discontinue this practice, I realise fully that these men are indeed saints according to the New Testament definition and yes, I fully agree that this is the only definition that matters).
